GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A fiery crash between two semi-trucks shutdown Interstate 75 for hours early Friday in Alachaua County, officials said.
The crash happened near Gainesville on southbound I-75 just after 3:30 a.m., Gainesville Fire Rescue officials said.
Three people were treated for minor injuries.
The crash shutdown both directions of the interstate for nearly two hours, and southbound lanes remained blocked through at least 7:30 a.m.
Fire officials said it took 8,000 gallons of water and 10 gallons of foam to put the fire out because of the trucks' diesel tanks and the lack of hydrants nearby.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
