ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Donna McCarthy-Jenson, our Teacher of the Week, has spent the last five years of her 27-year teaching career at St. Augustine High School.
"I love it, it's a great place to work," McCarthy-Jenson said.
She teaches Intensive Basic Skills, a class for juniors and seniors, helping them improve their test-taking skills.
"Every time a student comes in with an ACT score that allows him to go on to the next level of education, it's my success too," McCarthy-Jenson said.
To help her students be successful, she goes beyond testing skills.
"Educators are researchers," McCarthy-Jenson said. "That's what we do and we're tweaking it all the time. We're looking for new ways to help students reach their goals."
