ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- An Orange Park High School student takes all AP courses and still gets straight A's. She's in ninth grade but takes math with eleventh graders. Emily Buzby is our Student of the Week.
The 15-year-old is quick to solve a math problem and she enjoys helping other students in her class. Not surprisingly math is her favorite subject.
"There is always a right answer and it's something I have accelerated in most of my life," said Emily.
She also excels in her other classes. Her English teacher, Chris DeAngelis, raves about her.
"She strives to be perfect and that's amazing for me because if she's interested in the class that makes my job so amazing," said DeAngelis.
Emily works hard in school but is also on the swim team, the Math Honors Society, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and she's been a Girl Scout since kindergarten. She said she wants to be the best she can be in everything.
"Emily is the perfect student," said DeAngelis.
Emily likes math so much she hopes to some day become a college math professor.
