Duval County residents can now apply for individual assistance from FEMA

If your home was damaged by Hurricane Matthew, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is now accepting individual damage claims for property that's uninsured or underinsured for those that live in Duval County.

St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam counties were already allowed to apply for individual assistance.

You're eligible for the help from the Individual Assistance program if all damage to your property was caused by Hurricane Matthew beginning Oct. 3.

Register with FEMA as soon as possible in a list of ways:

The number is toll-free and lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.

If you are deaf or have a speech disability and use a TTY, you may call 1-800-462-7585.
