JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman remains in critical condition following a domestic dispute in the Herlong area that resulted in the stabbing death of one man.
At around 1:30 a.m. the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic dispute between a man and a woman at the 8600 block of Springtree Rd. According to Sergeant Farhat there appears to be two crime scenes, both inside and outside of the residence, that will need to be further investigated.
Eric Grant, 38, sustained severe injuries from what JSO believes to be stab wounds. He was transported to UF Health by emergency services where he later died.
The female involved in the incident, who is said to be in her forties, was transported to Orange Park Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition from what officers believe is also stab wounds. She is expected to survive, according to authorities.
It is unclear at this time the current relationship between the two individuals, but JSO has said that they were living at the same residence and at one point were husband and wife.
According to authorities, there were no children inside the house when the dispute took place.
