Homicide Detectives Investigating Man Killed in Northwest Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead.

The shooting happened around 1:30 Saturday morning in the 2300 block of Moncrief Road.  Detectives tell First Coast News a woman living at home at that location heard an argument downstairs between her boyfriend and another man followed by a gunshot.

When the woman went outside she found her boyfriend had been shot.

Police arriving on scene found the man unresponsive.  He was transported to Shands Jacksonville where he was pronounced dead.

No suspect information or motive have been released.  Detectives are continuing their investigation.
