Women grew marijuana behind house

DEBARY, Fla. — Investigators said a Volusia County woman was growing marijuana in a shed behind her home.

Deputies said they found plants, grow gear and guns on the property, including a gun in an 11-year-old child's bedroom.

Alesha Slack, 44, was arrested Friday at her home on Acacia Road in DeBary.

Deputies had information that led them to serve a search warrant where they said they found 44 pot plants and all the equipment for a grow operation.

Investigators said they found several guns in the home. The one found in the child's bedroom was loaded, deputies said.

Slack faces drug and child neglect charges.
