Woman shot in neck at Red Roof Inn

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police responded to a Westside hotel Friday morning and found a woman shot in the neck.

The call came into police around 7 a.m. in reference to a reported aggravated battery in the 6000 block of Youngerman Circle. An unidentified woman was found shot in the neck, however her injuries were described as non life-threatening. She was transported to an area hospital, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

No arrests have been made and a man and woman were detained for questioning. Police are still investigating what led up to the gunfire inside a room of the Red Roof Inn.
