Woman shot in butt, suspect wanted

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found a woman who had been shot in her rear end Thursday morning in the 1400 block of West 6th Street.

Police were called to the location just before 12:30 a.m. where they found the unidentified woman. She was taken to UF Health for treatment.

Information regarding her condition or identity has not been released yet.

JSO said they are searching for a male, possibly in his late 20s, in connection to the shooting.

No other description of the man or his involvement was immediately available to First Coast News.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office asks that any witnesses to the shooting contact the department's Homicide Unit at (904) 630-0500 or First Coast Crimestoppers at (866)-845-TIPS.
