Wanted Murder Suspect: Ex-girlfriend stabbed multiple times

LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A woman was stabbed multiple times Friday morning and investigators believe her ex-boyfriend is to blame after she was found lying in the middle of the road, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Police received a call just before 12:30 a.m. that Chaquasha Shawntey Aviger, 36, had been left in the road allegedly by Carlis Lindsey III near NW Jackson Avenue and NW Morgan Street.

LCPD said Aviger had stab wounds to her chest, abdomen and throat as well as numerous cuts and lacerations to her sides and her neck.

Aviger was taken to Shands Lake Shore Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after 1:00 a.m.

Officials believe Lindsey is either headed to Jacksonville or Orlando because they said he has family in both cities, and is considered armed and dangerous.

Lindsey may be in his ex-girlfriend's rental car, a 2013 gray Hyundai Elantra with Florida tag #987LGQ., officers say.

A warrant has been issued for Lindsey's arrest on charges of first degree murder.

Investigators have responded to multiple domestic incidents involving Aviger and Lindsey, officers told First Coast News, with the latest incident occurring in May 2013.

Aviger has several children, including a three-week old baby, according to police.

Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts or with other information about this case can contact Investigator Tammy Cox at 386-752-4344 or may file an anonymous tip via the LCPD Tips Line 386-719-2068 or LCPD's myPD app (available at www.lcflapd.com).

Anyone who comes in contact with Lindsey should call 911 immediately and use extreme caution.
