Toddler suffered multiple broken bones in alleged child abuse incident

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two people are behind bars after a toddler was admitted to Wolfson Children's Hospital with multiple broken bones.

Police responded to a potential aggravated child abuse incident early Tuesday morning after the toddler was admitted with a broken arm, according to a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A medical exam of the one-year-old victim showed the toddler suffered a humerus fracture (upper arm), tibia and fibula fractures in both legs, a clavicle fracture, along with broken ribs, the report detailed.

Police interviewed William Meade, 31, and 31-year-old Brooke Bornhurt and later charged both with child neglect and aggravated child abuse. Meade is currently being held on $150,006 bond. Bornhurt is being held on a $100,006 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court July 2.
