Shopping center evacuated after second bomb threat

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Deputies evacuated an Orange Park grocery store Saturday afternoon after it received a second bomb threat in two days, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses said it happened at the Save A Lot store in the 300 block of Blanding Boulevard about 12:30 p.m. Two deputies cleared the store so it could be searched, but no explosives were found, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said.

"This is our normal protocol for bomb threats....all precautionary," public information officer Mary Justino told First Coast News in an e-mail.

On Friday afternoon, a bomb threat made over the phone triggered an evacuation of the store. Deputies called in the bomb squad and bomb-sniffing dogs from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Ultimately, nothing was found.
