Sheriff: 'Dangerous' fugitive off the streets

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A federal fugitive is in custody Friday after a joint investigation between the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Palatka Police Department.

Lenny 'Demillionare' Grice, 32, had a United States warrant out for his arrest for violation of federal probation, which was for drug related charges. The PCSO was looking for Grice to serve him with an injunction for protection against domestic violence.

Detectives determined Grice was staying at an Economy Inn at 3 a.m., according to a Putnam County Sheriff's Office press release. Grice was taken into custody by the PCSO SWAT team without incident.

The release said Grice is a six time convicted felon including arrests for numerous drug charges, resisting law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and vehicle theft.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy stated, "Grice is a very dangerous and violent individual with a lengthy criminal history dating back to when he was a teenager. I am glad he was captured without anyone being injured."

Grice is held at the Putnam County Jail without bond. He also faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
