Several arrested in child predator investigation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, 12 people were arrested in conjunction with Operation Guardian, an investigation targeting potential child predators.

Each individual was charged with unlawful use of a computer to seduce/solicit/lure a child, traveling to meet after using a computer to seduce/solicit/lure a child and using a computer to seduce/solicit/lure a child and unlawful use of two-way communication device.

According to JSO, the individuals traveled from as far as Valdosta, ,New Smyrna Beach and Lake City to visit Jacksonville to meet up with the victims.

Each of the men arrived at a predetermined location in his vehicle and was taken down by JSO Detectives.

Some of the suspects were inside the home and others were arrested as they approached the house on foot.

The individuals arrested in Operation Guardian:

  • Daniel Nathan Mazza, 20
  • Charles Eric Zagorac, 52
  • Andrew Scott Adams, 37
  • Dennis Edwin Mehaffie, 37
  • Gabriel Angel Rodiguez, 23
  • Derick Lamar Robinson, 34
  • Steven Geiger Knaorsky-Kane, 24
  • Adam Lee Knopp, 29
  • Brian Patrick Mullis, 26

The agencies that assisted JSO in Operation Guardian includes the Gainesville Police Department, Daytona Beach Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Office and the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.
