Police suspect foul play in case of body found in Trout River

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Monday morning the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released the identity of a man's body that wasfound floating in the Trout River Sunday. Later Monday afternoon they said detectives determined the man was murdered.

Melissa Bujeda, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, saidthe body was identified as that of27-year-old Jerome Angelo Faulk Jr.

Police were called to the boat ramp in the 6800 block of Dunn Avenue Terrace around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

Two kayakers reported findingFaulk's bodyfloating in the river.

Shannon Hartley, also a Public Information Officer with the sheriff's office, said foul play is suspected in Faulk's death.

Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in the investigation.
