Authorities are searching for the suspect who robbed a Bank of America on Georgia Highway 40 in St. Marys Thursday afternoon.
The St. Marys Police Department says the suspect walked in alone around 1:25 p.m. He handed a note to the cashier, demanding money. The cashier handed him money and he stuffed the cash in his pockets before he fled on foot.
The man is described to be 5'5'' to 5'6'' tall, blonde hair, wearing a black shirt and black pants. Surveillance video released by police show the man also has a cross tattoo on his left arm.
Police say they received a tip of that a man who matches the suspect's description got into the trunk of a four-door gold colored car about eight blocks away and fled north.
Authorities also say they believe something suspicious happened on a side street between a man and a woman a few blocks from the bank.
When the man got into the gold car, a woman was driving, they say. She drove the car toward Georgia Highway 40 where they were last seen heading north.
The woman is described as white with blonde hair and wearing a white shirt or blouse with some red writing on the clothing.
