Photo released of auto theft suspect

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help in locating a suspect who allegedly stole a car Sunday night.

According to JSO, the incident took place at the BP gas station located at 3551 N. University Boulevard.

The victim told police he parked his car on the side of the store, went inside and left the keys in the ignition with the car running and unlocked.

Police said a surveillance video showed a car pull up next to the victim's car, which appeared to be an early 2000 model black Ford Taurus.

A man wearing a white tank top and khaki pants, got out of the black car and into the victim's car and drove away. The suspect's car followed the victim's car.

Since this incident, the victim's vehicle has been recovered, however, police are still looking for the suspect(s).
