Mom arrested in child's car death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Crystle Heidrick, 28, was arrested and charged Friday with the traffic-crash related death of her five-year-old daughter, Kelsey Johnson.

On December 19, Heidrick was driving on Interstate 295 in a Chevrolet Impala when she lost control of the car and crashed into some trees, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Heidrick was charged with DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. She was arrested at her home. Her bond is set at $250,000.

FHP investigators have established the required probable cause for the charges and the final conclusion of this case is expected in the near future, pending an additional investigation.
