Middle school student charged with bringing knife to school

BELLEVIEW, Fla. — A Marion County middle school student is charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly brought a pocket knife to school and threatened another student.

Deputies said that on Wednesday, the 14-year-old boy allegedly put the knife to a student's neck and demanded some gum.

The student is also accused of putting the knife to a student's stomach, the arrest report said.

Authorities said the student admitted having the knife, but denies that he threatened anyone.

The student, who is also charged with possession of a weapon on school property, is a seventh-grader at Belleview Middle School.
