JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was arrested for Wednesday for reportedly beating up two women after he showed up as an unwanted guest at a party.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO) was called out to a house on the 1100 block of Eagle Point Drive March 1. The first victim told deputies that she was having a pool party with some friends when the suspect, identified as Sean Patrick Martin, 23, showed up "high" and "drunk."
The victim asked Martin to leave because "he was not wanted there," but told deputies that he became upset and started breaking and throwing items. Both victims, along with two friends, tried pushing Martin out the door and that's when he jumped the first victim, witnesses say.
The report says Martin tackled the first victim, punched her several times and dragged her across the street. The second victim tried to intervene. The second victim says that's when Martin punched her "over and over" on the head and dragged her in the street. A witness told deputies that Martin also grabbed the second victim by the throat, threw her to the ground and punched her in the back of the head.
Martin told SJSO he was attacked by the two victims for "no reason" and that he "would never lay (his) hands on a female."
The first victim refused treatment, but the second victim was transported to Baptist South Hospital.
All three were drinking before the fight.
