Lake City man wanted for murder tuns himself in

LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A murder suspect turned himself in to Lake City police following a Friday night shooting.

According to the LCPD, Tommy Eugene Freeman was found dead from a gunshot to the chest Friday night outside of an apartment on S.E. Nassau Street.

Police say Freeman, 39, was shot during an argument involving Delvin Devonte Wilson and Ramona Cook.

During the argument, Wilson allegedly shot Freeman and left the scene with Cook, according to LCPD.

Wilson turned himself in to police Saturday morning at 10 a.m. He was accompanied by several family members, invoked his rights and provided no statement to police. Wilson was arrested and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center and charged with homicide.

The details of the shooting are still being gathered by investigators.
