Arrest made in violent sexual assault, home invasion, off Beach Blvd

He does not have a record in Duval County, but has some priors in Baker County.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-  An arrested has been made in the sexual assault of a woman in her home of Beach Boulevard that happened Monday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged Travis Jakubowski, of Ponte Vedra Beach, with armed sexual battery, armed home invasion and armed imprisonment.

Police say Jakubowski  forced his way into the victim's home and, after sexually battering the victim. Police say the suspect may have fled in a older model silver or light grey pickup truck like the one pictured below. It has Texas plates in the front and back.

The victim was taken to Baptist at Towncenter Emergency Room for stitches after the suspect also reportedly hit and beat the victim. 

JSO Special Investigations Lt. Sharon Scott called the victim "a survivor" and "resilient" in a news conference Thursday.

Scott says they connected the suspect to a similar incident in Baker County and identified him through surveillance video. 

Jakubowski was arrested at a family member's home on Jacksonville's Southside.
