Former DCPS security guard accused of sex with student

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- According to documents obtained by First Coast News, the alleged sexual activity between 25-year old Douglas Andrew Tilley, III and a 17-year-old female student, known only as "AG" began in approximately December 2013.

The affidavit for arrest warrant said "AG" is a 12th grader and said she and Tilley sent text messages and exchanged nude photos.

It goes on to say the two had sex on two separate occasions, once in a park then at Tilley's house.

The document said AG wanted to end the relationship with Tilley, but he kept calling and texting, even threatening suicide if she didn't return his calls.

Then, AG said Tilley started sending her nude photos to her mother and someone else, even sending photos via Facebook.

Tilley was a security guard at Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology. In a letter in his personnel file obtained by First Coast News, dated January 23 sent to him by the principal, it states in part his inappropriate conduct with a student was verified and it violated civil service rules regarding conduct of a DCPS employee. His employment was terminated.

Tia Ford, spokesperson for Duval County Public Schools said "proper action was taken against the employee based on the results of the district's investigation."

Tilley's attorney, D. Robbins, told FCN, "We're hopeful to resolve the case to everyone's satisfaction. We're glad that this will soon be over and everyone can put it behind them."

The arrest affidavit for Douglas Andrew Tilley, III said he is charged with unlawful sexual activity with certain minors and with transmission of material harmful to minors.

The affidavit said Tilley is to have no contact with the victim, the victim's mother/family and to have no contact with minors.
