Deputies find drugs, gun during traffic stop

PALATKA, Fla. -- A 23-year-old man is behind bars after deputies say they found drugs and a gun in his car.

Nestor Perry Rodriquez was spotted by a deputy in Putnam County at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday running a red light at Husson Avenue and Silver Lake Drive, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Rodriquez was stopped and a K-9 deputy was walked around the car and alerted to the driver's door.

Further investigation found Rodriguez was allegedly in the possession of oxycodone pills and a loaded semi-automatic pistol without a permit.

Rodriguez was charged with possession of drugs, one count drug trafficking, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of violation of probation.
