Two shootings at same gas station, a day apart

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Just a day after a 19-year-old was shot in the hand at the Blue Star Discount Food Store, two victims were left in serious condition after another shooting Tuesday night at the same gas station.

Officers were dispatched to the gas station in the 2600 block of North Myrtle Avenue around 9:05 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Witness told police a black four door car and a small light colored car went to the Blue Star Discount Food Store, according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Each car appeared to have three or four occupants that got out and started shooting at people that were hanging around outside of the store. The witness also told police an occupant of the black car told the other driver, "go on, I got this," the report detailed. The light colored car then left the scene and men from the black car went inside the store and ran back out, before getting back into the black car and fleeing the scene.

An 18-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were both shot during the incident at Blue Star, according to the report. The 33-year-old victim was found inside the store and then transported to UF Health at Jacksonville. The 18-year-old victim walked to UF Health for treatment. Both were listed in serious condition Tuesday night. The 18-year-old was updated to good condition Wednesday, while the 33-year-old victim was listed in critical condition.

Anyone who has any information about this shooting is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
