Man charged in deadly car accident was driving under the influence: Troopers

A man reportedly under the influence was arrested and charged in a deadly Putnam County crash from August 2016, authorities say.

Joseph Anthony Wright caused the crash that killed Ashley Dawn Sweeney, 31, a passenger in a Dodge Caravan around 12:30 a.m. on August 25, 2016, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Wright faces charges of driving under the influence, DUI manslaughter, negligent manslaughter with vehicle and DUI property damage, according to highway troopers.

After months of investigation, Wright was arrested Sunday and taken to the Putnam County Detention Facility and is being held on a $11,000.
