Child shot in arm by a stray bullet

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police say a 4-year-old child was grazed by a stray bullet near an elementary school on Monday morning.

The child was shot near North Oregon Avenue and West Spruce Street around 11 a.m. Police tell 10 News the child was not an intended target as shots were fired in the area.

The Hillsborough County School Board says Just Elementary at 1315 West Spruce,Stewart Middle Magnet School at 1125 West Spruce and Mount Pleasant Standard Base Middle School at 1906 N. Rome Avenue are on full lockdown as police look for the person responsible in the area.

Other nearby schools, Dunbar Elementary and Blake High School, are currently on a modified lockdown.
