Arson suspect captured, charged with terroristic threats and acts

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A 43-year-old Brunswick man is facing arson and terroristic threats and acts charges.

The Glynn County Police Department responded to the 140 block of Emanuel Farm Road Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. after a resident reported a break-in, according to a release from the GCPD.

Police found evidence of forced entry, but also noticed heavy smoke inside the home. Investigators found the kitchen stove was on with materials on the stove burning, the release detailed. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Further investigation determined the break-in was an arson. After interviewing the resident and witnesses police identified Jthur Jamal Blake as the suspect.

Blake was arrested and charged with one count of arson and two counts of terroristic threats and acts.

The investigation is ongoing.
