Armed robbery suspect sought by police

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who was caught on surveillance video pointing a gun at a clerk.

Police responded to the Gate gas station in the 7200 block of Merrill Road April 25 after an armed suspect, holding a black shirt over his face, held up the store, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The suspect pointed a silver handgun at the store clerks and demanded money.

The suspect was given money and fled the scene in a maroon or red newer model vehicle, JSO detailed.

Anyone who has any information about the identity or location of this armed robbery suspect is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
