Arlington man shot in heel

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An Arlington man is recovering after a shooting that sent him to the hospital Saturday night with a gunshot wound to the heel.

The man was standing outside a home in the 7200 block of Sandhurst Road about 11 p.m. when someone opened fire, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. One round struck the victim, while the other hit the home's front door.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not expected to be life threatening.

Investigators have not yet identified a suspect in that shooting.
