ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—A man  barricaded in his north St. Augustine home Monday night exited the home after the St. Augustine Police Department deployed several gas grenades.

Police first arrived on scene on Poinciana Avenue shortly after 7:45 p.m. to find three people originally in the home, but two have since left of their own accord, says Mark Samson, spokesperson for the St. Augustine Police Department.

Units from the St. Augustine Police Department, St. Augustine Beach Police Department and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deployed several gas grenades at 12 Poinciana Ave. and were able to get Benjamin Carter to come out of the residence where he was staying. Once Carter was outside and secured the St. Johns County Bomb Squad used a robot to enter the home to make sure it was safe before entering.

Clark was charged with aggravated assault and transported and booked in to the county jail.
