Over 400 low income Jax residents given food, health screenings and other services

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Over 400 low income Jacksonville residents were given food, health screenings and other services at a resource fair on Philips Highway Friday.

The Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida, Farm Share and a collaboration of other community agencies put on the Food Giveaway and Resource Fair for Duval County residents only.

The first 400 people who arrived were given a free grocery bag of nutritious food and attendees were able to get free health screenings, HIV testing, housing assistance and financial guidance, Lutheran services says in a release.

If attendees visited at least three vendors they were given a free lunch.
