Clay County organization to host Veterans Appreciation Day festival

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – A local Clay County veteran organization will be hosting a festival of sorts in honor of our nation’s heroes.

The Clay County Veterans Services will host the very first Veterans Appreciation Day festival this Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Clay County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is completely free to attend. 

Among the numerous activities that are scheduled to be offered is a classic car show hosted by the Clay County Cruzers and a motorcycle show hosted by the American Legion Riders. There will be an assortment of military and construction vehicles on display as well.

There will be pet adoptions, food trucks, craft vendors and VA representatives present. And for the kids, there will be activities and free ice cream offered all day.

Special guests include Major General Bob Branyon and Jacksonville Giants basketball players and mascots.

Live entertainment will be offered all day starting at 9 a.m. with the band Honeymoon Harry Musical Tribute to the USA, followed by the Boatright Bluegrass Band at 10 a.m.
