Cat shot in face in Palm Coast, deputies seeking tips

PALM COAST, Fla. — A Palm Coast woman had to euthanize her cat after it was shot in the face earlier this month, deputies said.

Christina Deangelis said she found her 5-year-old cat, Baby Cat, injured in her driveway. She rushed the cat to an area animal clinic, but due to the severity Baby Cat’s injuries, she was euthanized.

The animal hospital reported the incident to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and an animal cruelty investigation was launched.

Deangelis, who lives on Laguna Forest Trail, fears another one ofher cats, which disappeared earlier this month, may also have been killed. She told investigators she has lived at her home for three years and hasn’t had any problems with her neighbors or her animals.

Deputies have spoken with neighbors and searched for reports of any complaints about cats in the area, but said they have no leads in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at 386-313-4911.
