Cars crash through bus stop, into tree line

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A crash with injuries resulted in one person being cut from a car after crashing through a bus stop and into a tree line.

The crash occurred in the 7100 block of Powers Avenue around 7:20 a.m. Friday.

The crash was the result of a silver sedan hitting a blue Altima which was pulling out of the Heron Walk Apartments onto Powers Ave., according to Sgt. Paul Restivo with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The silver sedan t-boned the Altima in the crash, sending both cars crashing through a city bus stop and into a nearby tree line, Sgt. Restivo detailed. No one was at the bus stop at the time of the crash.

The roof of the silver sedan was cut off by first responders and the driver was taken to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown.
