JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A Jacksonville Jaguars player is hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Riverside Avenue. That's near St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Police say offensive tackle Richard Collier was shot while sitting in a car.

Collier was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Former Jaguar Kenneth Petway was also in the car. He was not hurt.

Petway, a defensive end, was recently released by the Jags.

There are no suspects in custody.
