HOUSTON (AP) -- Washington quarterback Mark Brunell has broken the NFL record for most consecutive completions in a single game
when he connected on his first 22 passes on Sunday against the Houston Texans.
The old record was held by Oakland's Rich Gannon, who completed 21 straight against Denver in November of 2002.
The record fell when the 36-year-old Brunell found Santana Moss on six-yard pass late in the third quarter. The streak ended when Houston's Travis Johnson batted down a pass intended for Brandon Lloyd, Brunell's first incompletion.
Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb holds the NFL record for most consecutive passes competed over a two-game span with 24.
