PALATKA, Fla. -- According to the Florida Highway Patrol four people, including twin 9-year-olds, were injured after a pedestrian crash in Palatka.
FHP was dispatched to the area of State Road 19 and East Branch Trail around 8:31 a.m. Friday Morning.
Police said 75-year-old Doyle Edward Elliott of Palatka lost control of his white Toyota Tacoma truck, possibly due to a medical condition.
The truck collided with a mailbox and hit three people at a school bus stop, including the 9-year-old twins and their 19-year-old babysitter, Kayla Gabrielle Johnson of Palakta.
The babysitter along with one twin was airlifted to UF Gainesville, the other twin and the driver of the truck was transported to Putnam Community Medical Center.
The injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
The twins attend Kelly Smith Elementary in Palatka.
