JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The sisters of Cherish Perrywinkle will remain in the custody of the state.
A minutes-long hearing decided to keep the 4- and 6-year-old girls with the state, where they have been since July.
The mother of the girls, Rayne Perrywinkle, attended the hearing but did not speak. Perrywinkle is the mother of Cherish Perrywinkle who was abducted and killed in June.
In October, the Florida Department of Children and Families filed a motion to deny Rayne Perrywinkle visitation with her daughters.
According to our news partner The Florida Times-Union, the next custody hearing will be held Feb. 20.
