JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man is recovering after being shot in the face by a stranger.
Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired around 10:45 p.m. Thursday night in the area of McCargo Street and Driggers Street.
A victim, who has not been identified at this time, was found with a gunshot wound to his face and shoulder, according to JSO.
The victim told police he has been drinking and was involved in a dispute with a man he did not know. The victim claims he saw the suspect making suspicious movements with his hands so he grabbed the suspect.
The victim heard two gunshots and realized he had been hit.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and no description is available at this time.
The victim was taken to UF Health Jacksonville for treatment.
