JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 late Thursday night.
The deadly crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. on I-95, near Bowden Road according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Vladimir Rafael Ramos, 41, was driving northbound on I-95 in the center lane when he allegedly changed lanes into the path of another car.
The driver of the other car, 23-year-old Sarah Gail Sutton, swerved her Toyota Corolla to avoid the Ramos' car, but struck the left rear of his car in the process.
Ramos' car veered right into a grassy area on the shoulder, rolled and struck a tree.
Ramos was killed in the crash and his passenger, 39-year-old Lisbet Alderette was critically injured.
Sutton's car came to a stop in the left lane and she was not injured.
Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, according to the FHP report, and everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
