JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was shot in the arm by a stranger as he walked after leaving the home of a family member late Sunday night.
The victim had just left his cousin's house in the Brentwood area of North Main Street and was walking home when he was approached by an unknown man, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The stranger approached and asked the victim, "who you is," and the victim responded, "who you is," police detailed.
The unknown attacker allegedly pulled out a handgun and hit the victim in the head several times. The victim told the suspect, "you got it, you it got it" and walked away. The unknown suspect then fired a shot at the victim, hitting him in the left arm, according to JSO.
The victim walked to his grandmother's house and reported the incident to police. The victim was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries.
