JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A truck traveling north on I-295 veered suddenly, flipped at least twice and ended upside down in a ditch Sunday night, according to witnesses.
Ed Blakeslee and his wife were driving home from a day trip to Orlando when they noticed a car "drifting" aimlessly down I-295 around 11:30 p.m.
Blakeslee told First Coast News the Ford Ranger truck was in the center lane of the highway when it suddenly took a hard right and flipped at least twice before coming to rest in the ditch.
When the crash occurred, Blakeslee and his wife pulled to the side of the highway near the Normandy Blvd exit and called police.
Two passengers, a man and a woman, were inside the vehicle.
The male passenger, who was conscious and talking, was taken away by paramedics on a stretcher and the female passenger was able to walk away from the crash.
Blakeslee said the truck was not speeding at the time of the crash.
FCN will follow this story and provide more information when more information is released by authorities.
