Father and son busted for allegedly growing over 100 marijuana plants

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- While investigating a hunting complaint, the Florida Wildlife Commission discovered several marijuana plants at a residence.

On Wednesday at about 8:30 p.m., Florida Wildlife Commission personnel discovered the plants and contacted the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

According to a Bradford County Sheriff's Office press release, shortly before the residents arrived at the property, the officers surveyed the plants and residence.

Agents from the Bradford County Drug Unit arrived to the scene and were given consent to search the residence and surrounding property.

According to the release, a total of 149 marijuana plants were recovered. The plants varied in size with the tallest approximately 5 feet tall.

A large amount of seeds and processed marijuana for smoking were also recovered at the residence.)

The suspects are father and son, and allegedly admitted to growing and possessing the drugs. They told investigators the marijuana was for their personal use.

James Lavon Davis, 52, and Lorenzo James Davis, 20, posted bond and were released from the Bradford County Jail.

James is charged with marijuana production, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lorenzo is charged with marijuana production and marijuana possession.
