Claudia B. Dallas,51 - charged with first degree murder and resisting an officer.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A 64-year-old man was found dead in his home after a concerned family member performed a well-being check on Saturday, according to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said, Roger A. Henderson was discovered lying on the floor with blood on his clothes in the 6800 block of 215th street.
Once other family members arrived, they observed a woman walking into a bedroom at the rear of the home.
ACSO was initially contacted by Roger A. Henderson's family to conduct a well-being check because they had not heard from him since the previous evening. In addition, Henderson's belongings were seen across the front yard of his home which raised red flags to the family.
Once ACSO patrol and K-9 Deputies arrived they found Henderson on the floor with multiple stab wounds on his chest and back.
After searching the home the deputies found the female suspect sitting in a nearby bedroom.
The female suspect, identified as 51-year-old Claudia B. Dallas, ignored several commands to surrender but was later apprehended with the use of an ACSO K-9 and taken into custody.
Dallas was booked into the Alachua County Jail on charges of first degree murder and resisting an officer.
