KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. -- One man was seriously injured and another suffered minor injuries after a shooting incident in Keystone Heights on Wednesday.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office responded around 4 p.m. to the home where the incident occurred in the 7200 block of Skidmore Street in the Highridge Estates area of Keystone Heights.
The man who was seriously injured has been transported by flight to Shands Gainesville, according to CCSO.
The other male was treated at the scene.
CCSO has said it will release more information when it becomes available.
Update: (7:10 p.m.) An altercation between an elderly man and three teenagers resulted in shotgun injuries to two of the teens on Wednesday.
According to CCSO, the incident occurred near a private storage barn in the 6300 block of Swarthmore Street which is off of CR214, not on Skidmore Street as previously reported.
The owner of the storage barn, the man in his 70's, went to check on his property and confronted three teenage males he found there.
An altercation ensued and the shotgun held by the property owner discharged/malfunctioned injuring his own hands and more seriously injuring one of the teens, according to CCSO.
The investigation is ongoing into the exact cause of the incident.
CCSO did not provide names or exact ages of the victims.
The injured teen was taken to UF Shands Gainesville.
