JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a Westside shooting early Friday morning.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide sergeant T.K. Waters said Jacksonville Fire and Rescue initially responded to reports of an injured woman found in the driveway of her home on the 8400 block of Springtree Road.
The has been identified as 22 year-old Amber Bass, according to JSO. Waters said the woman had been out with friends Thursday night.
The victim lives with her sister and has a 2 a.m. curfew, Sgt. Waters detailed. When the victim came home at 2 a.m., the sister allegedly heard a scream and found her sister outside, unresponsive on the ground.
JSO was called to the scene once it was determined the victim was shot.
The young woman was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where she succumbed to her injuries.
