PALATKA, Fla. --A Palatka couple is behind bars facing multiple charges, including child endangerment.

Deputes with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of an unresponsive person mid-morning Saturday on the 330 block of South Highway 17.

Once on scene deputies found 20-year-old Johnathan Hunt attempting to give CPR to Megan Crabtree, a passenger in his car.

Crabtree, 19, allegedly, "used a needle to shoot up an unknown amount of Dilaudid which rendered her unconscious," according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies also allegedly found a needle and a silver spoon lying on the front seat of Hunt's car and additional Dilaudid pills in Hunt's pockets.

The couple also had their two-month-old baby unsecured in the back seat, according to the PCSO.

Crabtree received medical attention at the Putnam Community Medical Center and was arrested and charged with child endangerment.

Hunt was also arrested and charged with violation of probation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and child endangerment.

The couple's baby was unharmed and released to the custody of a relative. The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
