JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Cherish Perrywinkle's father Billy James Jarreau has traveled to the First Coast for his daughter's funeral. He released another statement Wednesday to First Coast News reporter Michelle Quesada:
"No words can describe how I feel right now. At this time, nothing makes sense. I am in shock and disbelief that my precious Cherish is gone.
"I would like to say thank you to those who have sent thoughts and prayers my way over the last couple of days. The support from those I don't even know here in Jacksonville has been overwhelming - thank you.

"Over the next couple of days, we will honor Cherish with a memorial service and a funeral. I ask that everyone please take a moment to remember and honor my little girl during this time.
"My wife and I are here paying tribute to Cherish so we ask that the media please respect my family's privacy during this difficult journey."
