VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A prison inmate who did not return to the work release program in Daytona Beach, Florida, Saturday, is being looked for by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
The prisoner, Marcus Lewis, is serving a 30-month sentence for a burglary and grand theft conviction from Putnam County.
Lewis, 22, and another inmate were released to go to a day job at a Daytona Beach McDonald's. They were both fired when they showed up two-hours late.
The two inmates did not return to the work release program on time. However, one inmate eventually returned and Lewis is still on the loose.
Lewis, who was last living in Palatka, Florida, was originally scheduled to be released in October. He's 5-foot and 11-inches and weighs approximately 160-pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and tattoos on his left arm and neck.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Lewis is asked to call the Volusia County Sheriff's Office at 386-248-1777 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at 888-277-TIPS.
You can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers by texting "TIP231 plus your message" to CRIMES. Individuals who provide information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
